New Guildmaster

In the guild charter it says “In the event the Guildmaster can no longer maintain the guild, the Guildmaster shall turn the guild over to a gesið who has achieved Scop grade who the Guildmaster deems most qualified.”  I have contacted Bardawulf about maintaining the Bards’ Guild as I deem him to be a fine scop and trust him to preserve the guild.  There is nothing else like it out there and I believe exploring traditional crafts like poetry is an essential part of our Heathen heritage.

Thanks to Bardawulf for taking over the guild, and thanks to those who participate in the guild’s workings.  It has been a pleasure, and I regret that I can no longer keep the guild, but it is good that others are interested enough to keep it going.

Welga,

Siggy

Notice of advancement

Hwæt!

May all of Hama’s kin high and low bear witness:

On this Wodensdæg, August 19, 2009, I hereby advance Bardawulf from the grade of Maðelere to Scop. He has successfully completed several works in traditional form (alliterative verse, yea, leoðas that can be used liturgically) and submitted them to me, which are to my satisfaction.  Thus he has fulfilled the requirements for advancing within the Scopas Gildscipe.

Congratulations Rob!
