Helið

This mysterious goddess had a cult center in Dorsetshire, and was not known outside of England. Her cult was vigorously persecuted by Augustine, and was nearly eradicated. It seems that the English antiquarian John Leeland noted in his research that Helith was a goddess of health or healing. Beyond this reference we have no historical data to posit with any certainty what her sphere of influence was. It would not be unseemly for modern heathens to recognize her as a goddess of healing, as her name suggests “Healer”.
